Jeannie
Jeannie received her Bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1997 while continuing her work with emotionally impaired children. In 1999 she graduated from Irene’s Myomassolgy Institute, a state certified massage school, and has been working in the field ever since. Her areas of specialization are deep tissue, trigger points, acupressure, swedish, hot stone therapy, reflexology, reiki, and rehabilitation massage.
Jeannie says, of her massage work, “I love what I do and I think it comes across in my sessions. I try to base my sessions on individual needs vs. one way of doing things, yet still focusing on providing an overall outcome of physical, mental, emotional, and/or spiritual balance and well being to my clients”. While she enjoys doing a swedish massage for relaxation she also loves doing a challenging massage that is therapy or rehabilitation based. “I really love getting deep into the muscles to provide relief”.
Her hobbies include reading, travel, herbology, alternative medicine, nature, music, yoga, and spending time with her family and her Chihuahua Chickpea. She also enjoys volunteering at her local animal shelter.
Jeannie has been a massage therapist since 1999, and has been with Essential Massage since May 2007.
If you would like to schedule an appointment with Jeannie, she is available Monday, Thursday and Friday in the afternoon/evening.
